A photo can preserve a page without making the words inside it easy to use. OCR, or optical character recognition, extracts text from document images. In Paperspell, processed documents can include recognized content that you can open from the document screen.
Save a readable original
Use a flat page, even light, and enough detail to read small print. Keep the whole page in frame. If the document has several pages, check that all relevant sections are included before you start relying on the extracted text.
Open the text after processing
From the saved document, open the full original text to review what was recognized. That content supports other document tasks, including search, summaries, and translation.
Check details that matter
OCR can mistake similar characters, miss faint print, and struggle with handwriting or complex layouts. Compare names, amounts, and dates with the original page before using them. If a line is missing, a clearer scan may help.
